Women Who Inspire: Olympian Erin Hamlin Gives Back.
Congratulations are in order for U.S Olympian Erin Hamlin, who made history when she became the first American to win an Olympic medal for the Luge Singles on February 11th 2014. We salute her remarkable accomplishment as she brings home the bronze medal and becomes a positive role model for young girls.
We are even more inspired that Erin Hamlin, together with Citi® is giving back to the program that sparked her journey to becoming a U.S. Olympian. She has teamed up with the USA Luge Slider Search to introduce kids of all backgrounds to the luge sport and to find candidates who have what it takes to become the best in the country and our future Olympic athletes.
Help Erin Hamlin and nine other U.S Olympians give back with the Every Step of the Way® program. Citi® donated $500,000 to the U.S. Olympic Committee to help support these community programs and now it's your turn to help award Citi's donation to any program with just a click!
Read on to see an amazing video snippet of Erin Hamlin's inspiring story and her journey to the 2014 Olympics. And don't forget to visit Citi® Every Step of the Way® to learn more about this incredible program and to choose where the $500k donation goes during the fun, exciting and inspiring olympic season!

ReplyDeleteAwesome that she won a medal - and even more awesome that she gives back! Stopping over from SITS!
ReplyDeleteInspiring, and great to read a post like this!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so fantastic! I love to see people give back, especially when they are athletes or other people in a position to really make things happen. Very inspiring and I can't wait to check out the program. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to hear about all of the people who made it possible for the athletes to get where they are today. It's so easy to forget about the hard work and sacrifices that the Olympians must go through to fulfill their dreams!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and this post. Good job on promoting such a positive thing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jaclyn!
DeleteWow, that is wonderful news! It is also incredible of her that she is giving back with the Every Step of the Way® program.

It has been so great watching the Olympics this year and seeing how strong the women have been. This is the first year I was able to see the women's hockey team play and I give kudos to those tough women!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the glowing post on a wonderful role model for our girls today.
ReplyDeleteVery cool and very inspiring - we love watching the Olympics - especially the skiing. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I don't watch the Olympics. But I do appreciate that the Olympics, unlike many other sports, don't require people to push, shove, or injure others to "win." I hadn't heard of the Citi-funded program you have mentioned, and it was interested to read about. I also hadn't heard about Erin Hamlin before, or anything about her story. I'm also guilty of never having heard of the Luge sport, as she mentioned in her video, haha. It must be a very interesting sport to try out, and learn to perfect, considering you basically can't see and yet have to know where to steer! Goodness. Going down a giant, windy water slide was traumatizing enough for me, don't know that I could handle trying out the Luge sport ;)! Thanks for sharing. This was an informative read for me!
ReplyDeleteAn incredible story about an inspiring person, thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteIt is hard to find role models for kids now adays... this is a great post to show there are people to look up to and try to take after. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteShe is a true champion. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteAn inspiration indeed! Positive role models for the next generation of young women is valuable. Encouraging girls to work hard and follow their dreams is something I hope I can do with my daughter. While I'm a Canadian- and thus a friendly rival ;)- I think the US always sets a great example of encouraging their young citizens to work towards achieving quality goals. Another inspiring story. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteShe really is an inspiration! Wish we had more positive role models like that. Hopefully our generation of young girls can learn from her and continue it!

It's a great accomplishment for Erin not only to medal but to be a first American to do so in luge! That is awesome! It is also wonderful for Citi to be supporting the Olympics!

ReplyDeleteI think this is a great opportunity--and I LOVE that we got a medal--go team USA.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I was not very familiar with Luge, so I was directed (after reading your post) to do a little bit of research and Erin seems even more like a Wonder Woman after my research. Thank you for sharing this for the linkup.
I'm not a big Olympics watcher (ahhh...admission!) but I do love an inspirational woman story. Thanks for sharing.
