Delicious Summer Appetizers: Cherry Basil Bruschetta. 

Tomato Bruschetta can be found on the appetizer menu of most restaurants and is a staple hors d'oeuvre  at most events. Although we love this healthy and tasty treat, summer is the perfect time to take it up a notch and trade the usual tomato ingredient for something sweeter, yummier and more unique.

How about a Cherry Basil Bruschetta adorned with crumbled feta cheese? Sounds amazing, tastes even better and you won't have to count the calories! Read on to get the recipe so you can make this easy appetizer at your next entertaining event or for your next family meal.

Cherry Basil Bruschetta Recipe
2 cups (500 mL) pitted cherries
1/4 cup (50 mL) thinly sliced fresh basil or mint
1/4 cup (50 mL) snipped fresh chives
2 tsp (10 mL) red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
pinches of salt and pepper
1 small baguette, thinly sliced and toasted
1/4 cup (50 mL) crumbled feta

1. Chop the cherries finely and place them in a bowl. 
2. Add the basil, chives, vinegar, salt and pepper, then gently stir them together. 
3. Layout your fresh baguette slices and using a spoon place the cherry mixture on each slice. 
4. Sprinkle your feta cheese atop each baguette and cherry Basil mixture. Serve and enjoy!
