The headline on Vanity Fair France magazine's first ever issue boldly reads "An American In Paris" a play on the enviable tag line "The American Girl In Paris" and the cover is graced by a sophisticated looking Scarlett Johansson in a curve hugging white and black wrap dress.
According to the magazine's editorial director Michel Denisot they chose Scarlett for the first issue which hit newstands today because she is the "ideal transatlantic muse." The 'Lost In Translation' actress who is currently dating french creative agency manager Romain Dauriac has been splitting her time between France and the U.S lately. During the press conference to launch the magazine Michel also added that "She [Scarlett] has every quality imaginable—the elegance, beauty, wit and impertinence that would make her a perfectly decent Parisian if she decides to move permanently into the apartment she has bought in Paris not far from here."
