On June 1st 2012 fans around the world celebrated what would have been Marilyn Monroe's 86Th birthday. Remembering her life and unique style with photos from the years when she was at the height of her career singing and acting in Old Hollywood movies.
We were not only celebrating Marilyn but a specific era and all the other exceptional artists who made lasting and yet to be surpassed contributions to the creative arts of music and film.
One can easily get lost in time watching classic silent films or black and white movies like 'Breakfast at Tiffany's
.' And even more so listening to the Golden Oldies Songs
from music greats like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Bee Gees etc.
We were not only celebrating Marilyn but a specific era and all the other exceptional artists who made lasting and yet to be surpassed contributions to the creative arts of music and film.
The timeless hits and soulful music from these and many more artists can no longer be found in music stores and JukeBox and vinyl records are now vintage items that are auctioned away for thousands of dollars...
Thankfully technology has equipped us with new ways to listen to these great artists and their Oldies Love Songs
To truly appreciate the art of song writing and composing great music one must start by listening to these timeless classics.
