Home Spa: Treat Yourself to a Delicious Chocolate Facial!

Our affinity for chocolate goes beyond its delicious taste as we explore the health benefits of dark chocolate not just when its ingested but also for our skin. 

Chocolate which is made from Cocoa powder contains vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and flavanol which   helps to increase your blood flow, leaving you with healthy, chocolaty smooth skin.

Small serving of 70-80% Plain Dark Chocolate or 2 tbsp of pure Cocoa Powder, 1tbsp Honey, 1 tbsp  plain yogurt.

1. Add chocolate pieces to a small amount of boiling water and stir until melted or substitute with cocoa powder.
2. Add the honey and yogurt and mix ingredients together, to create a paste and leave to cool off.
3. Apply chocolate mask to your face and leave it on till it dries completely.
4. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water and moisturize.

High antioxidant content
High antioxidant chocolate facial benefits include cell repair and cell damage prevention. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals and prevent them from damaging cells.

Increased blood flow 
Consumption of high-flavanol cocoa can help improve the appearance of skin by improving the function of blood vessels, increasing blood flow, increasing hydration, decreasing skin roughness, and helping to increase defense against UV damage.

Vitamin Content
Dark chocolate contains Vitamins A, B12, B-complex, D and E, great for absorption of calcium, tissue growth, and releasing energy.

Chocolate contains copper, iron, manganese, magnesium and zinc for the promotion of cell growth, the repair of tissue and the absorption of nutrients. Cocoa is also a rich source of sulfur, also known as the beauty mineral, necessary for healthy skin.
