A Sneak Peek Inside Designer Alberto Pinto's Rio de Janeiro Retreat!

Interior designer Alberto Pinto recently opened up his Rio de Janeiro apartment to Architectural Digest magazine, giving us an insight into not only his creative design pieces but a myriad of art work, and splashes of colorful decor that capture Brazil's flamboyant culture and bring the spectacular view of the Cagarras archipelago indoors. 

Read on to see more photos of the apartment which was renovated by architect Thiago Bernardes of Bernardes + Jacobsen.

The main area of the Living Room features a Pinto designed sofa, with a Nancy Graves painting above and giant clay pots at the ends.

This end of the living room features a sofa designed by Pinto with cushions made from recycled Vintage leopard coats and a beautiful Marc Quinn painting.

The Dinning Room features a rope rug, chairs upholstered in cheetah-spot cotton and colorful stripe panels.

Breathtaking view from the living room overlooks the Cagarras archipelago.

The TV Room features a Romulus mirror designed by Hubert le Gall and cushions covered in antique fabric from India.

The Master Bedroom features a spectacular view and a massive ammonite fossil.

The Master Bathroom features a custom made vanity and sconces by Ralph Pucci International.

The Desk in the master bathroom features 1970s parchment lamps.

One of three guest bedrooms, this one featuresmaguey-fiber wall hanging it was hand-woven in Central America in the ’70s.
