Home Spa: D.I.Y Facial Masks for All Skin Types!

Tired of purchasing expensive over the counter facial masks that are loaded with chemicals, are not right for your skin type and don't quite work the way you expected?

It's time to take the reigns on your beauty routines and try your own home made all natural face masks whether you have sensitive, oily or dry skin...

Yogurt Face Mask for sensitive or sunburnt skin:
This mask works well on chapped, sunburnt or irritated skin.

Ingredients: 1 cup natural yogurt and 1/2 cup of oatmeal.

1. Mix the ingredients together in a small bowl.
2. Apply the mask to your face and keep it on for 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Remove the mask by wiping your face with a steamy wash cloth.

Tip: This yogurt mask can also be used for other skin types. For oily skin add a few drops of lemon or lime juice. For dry skin add 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey.

Avocado Face Mask for dry skin:
Avocado and honey are filled with moisturizing qualities, this mask is especially suited to dry, mature and wrinkled skin.

Ingredients: 1/2 a ripe organic avocado and 1/4 cup pf honey.

1. Cut the avocado in half, using a spoon scoop out the avocado into a container.
2. Mash the avocado in to a creamy paste then, add and mix in the honey.
3. Apply to your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with a cool wash cloth.

Milk of Magnesia Mask for oily acne prone skin:
From Paula Begoun's book, 'The Beauty Bible'. According to Begoun in her famous book, Milk of Magnesia is actually liquid magnesium. Like clay, it's from the earth, but has disinfecting qualities and absorbs oil better than clay.

Ingredients: 1 bottle (non flavored) milk of magnesia (can be found at your local pharmacy.)

1. Apply the milk of magnesia to your face for 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Then rinse off with a cool wash cloth.

Fun Tip: You can create your own spa facial experience using the 10  to 15 minute mask application time to relax. Lay down on your back and place a circular cut slice of cucumber on each eye and enjoy your 'me' time.
