R.I.P Paul Walker The World Is A Better Place Because Of You.

We were shocked by the tragic news of the death of actor Paul Walker on Saturday afternoon, November 30th, 2013. The 40 year old actor and father of  daughter Meadow, 15 is best known for his role as undercover agent Brian O'Conner in the 'Fast & Furious' movie.

He was attending an event for his charity organization ROWW when the red Porsche that he was travelling in with his friend Roger Rodas crashed into a tree, then a light pole and according to reports burst into flames in Valencia, north of Los Angeles.
As fans of both Paul Walker and the Fast & Furious movies we were deeply saddened to hear of his passing and in our bid to commemorate Paul's legacy we set out to discover more about him, his beautiful soul and the genuinely caring and kind man that he was off-screen.
While he will always be remembered as a great actor who captivated our generation with his calm and cool persona, suave looks, piercing blue eyes and amazing stunt driving abilities on screen. It is the legacy that he created off screen and his dedication to making the world a better place through his charity organization ROWW (Reach Our Worldwide) that has left footprints on our hearts. We Remember The Victims, Heroes and The World Affected By 9-11.

This post was previously written to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the views and sentiments expressed still hold true today.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard about the twin tower attacks, I remember trembling in fear when the F-16 military jets flew over. I remember Long Island going into lock down because they assumed whatever terrorists were left would try to escape out of NYC that way. I remember the fear in my classmates faces when we heard about the attack on the Pentagon. The panic because cellphones were useless and no one knew where the President was or when he would address the nation...

"Leukemia Treatment: 'Remarkable' method wipes out cancer in 2 patients improves a third. Scientists are reporting the first clear success with a new approach for treating leukemia — turning the patients' own blood cells into assassins that hunt and destroy their cancer cells.

They've only done it in three patients so far, but the results were striking: Two appear cancer-free up to a year after treatment, and the third patient is improved but still has some cancer. Scientists are already preparing to try the same gene therapy technique for other kinds of cancer." Full Article

In the Know " Spotlight on Chilean Earthquake"

Earthquake in Chile shifted Earth's Axis and shortened Earth Days

The 8.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Chile on February 27th, 2010 was so strong that it broke off a large piece of the earth's crust and slightly shifted the earth from its axis, as a result shortening the earth day.

According to NASA a complex computer model's preliminary calculation shows that Earth's days should have shortened by 1.26 microseconds (a microsecond is one millionth of a second).

NASA explained that while this change may not be noticeable in everyday life, it is permanent. At least 723 people died in the Chilean earthquake and more than half a million houses were destroyed.
