Happy International Women's Day!

Hello Lush-Fab-Glam.com fashionistas and beautistas from around the globe. March 8th is designated as the the day to celebrate WOMEN. Today we embrace all that makes us feminine and celebrate what it means to be a woman.
 

We have put together an amazing round up, featuring the stories of fabulous, strong and intelligent women from all walks of life and highlighting the issues facing women and the continued struggle for women's rights around the world. Read on to be inspired...

Women Who Inspire:

1. Olympian Erin Hamlin made history when she became the first American ever to win a medal for the Luge Singles at the Sochi 2014 Olympic games. She was described as having "potential" not the raw talent but her determination took her not only to the Olympics but into history's record books as well. 2. Julie Chu is a four time Olympic medal winner and if that's not incredible enough this remarkable Team USA Women's Hockey player was voted by her fellow 2014 US Olympians to the flag bearer for Team U.S.A at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. 3. For Black History Month we featured the stories nine iconic black and African American women who made history by tearing down racial barriers and paving the way for other black and minority designers and models to excel in both the fashion and beauty industries. 4. Indie filmmakers Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson set out to change the mindset of girls across the country and end girl on girl bullying by creating a critically acclaimed documentary titled 'Finding Kind'. Which was based on their own experiences of bullying and being bullied by other girls during their school years. 

The message of this must-see Documentary On Girls & Bullying is simple and the affect profound, "be kind". A heart-felt answer to “the mean girls” phenomenon and growing issue of girl crime. 5. The struggle for women's rights still continues in many parts of the world. Even now women are still denied basic human rights such as education and in many cultures horendous acts like genital mutilations and rape are still an accepted practice and form of abuse inflicted on young girls and women.
